What does "Courtil" mean?
The word "courtil" comes from the old french "curtil" which from the latin (medieval) "curtilis".
A "courtil" often meant a small vegetable garden usually closed and attached to a house.
We decided to call our house "La Maison du Courtil" because of her court which was a small vegetable garden.
